A re-make or sequel to the original Tron from 1982 has been discussed now for over a year. The latest news on it comes from one of the actresses on the movie herself, the venerable actress Olivia Wilde. Last night on the red carpet, she had some incredible hype and praise for the project. Admittedly, I was a young buck when the original Tron came out. I remember Jeff Bridges being in it of course, and thought it was kind of cool, kind of weird, and kind of scary all at once (I was young, I say!). I can’t say that I am excited about a re-dux after all of this time but crazier things have happened and we have seen positive results on occasion. It sounds more interesting, based on Olivia’s comments, but how much can we trust what she says? Even the article speaks of conflicting reports, so I guess we will all just have to stay tuned to see what happens. We’ll keep you abreast of the project as new info comes out as always.
